Messaging Templates lets you create text, WhatsApp, and email templates for your Campaign. Reduce redundancy for your users by employing templates for donor outreach. Include merge tags within your templates to automatically embed specific details retrieved from the donor data into the message. Messaging templates appear in the PhoneRaise mobile app or Volunteer Link. 


ℹ️ Only the default message template is available for use in the Volunteer Link.

Creating Messaging Templates

Create text, WhatsApp, and email templates and optimize your user's productivity. Message templates allow users to quickly communicate with donors with canned responses.


To create a messaging template


  1. Log into your PhoneRaise account.

  2. Click on CAMPAIGNS.

3. Click on VIEW.

4. Click on CAMPAIGN SETTINGS.

5. Click on Messaging Templates.

6. Click TEXT, WHATSAPP, or EMAIL to select the message template to create.

7. Click ADD TEMPLATE.

8. Type a name for the new message template in the TEMPLATE NAME textbox.


9. If you are creating an email template, type a subject for the new message template in the EMAIL SUBJECT textbox.


10. The email subject is not required for text or WhatsApp templates.

Type a template message in the MESSAGE textbox.

11. (Optional) Use the INSERT MERGE TAG drop-down menu to add specific details about each donor to the message template. When users send a message from the PhoneRaise mobile app or Volunteer Link, the donor's data is automatically inserted.

12. Click the Active toggle to enable the message template for users.

13. (Optional) You can use the Default Template toggle to ensure the template appears first in the mobile app.

Only the default message template is available for use in the Volunteer Link.

14. Click SAVE to create a new message template.

Allowing User-Created Templates

Users (staff and/or volunteers) can also create custom message templates within the PhoneRaise mobile app, provided that the User Permission setting is enabled. Enabling the User Permissions toggle grants all Campaign users in the mobile app the ability to create their own message templates. Additionally, you can control the available User Merge Tags the user has access to while creating a custom message template. 

  • Allow users to create custom templates by clicking the User Permissions toggle slider.
  • Select the allowed User Merge Tags by clicking the checkboxes.
  • Click SAVE.

Deleting Messaging Templates

Permanently remove unnecessary message templates from the Campaign by deleting them from the Campaign Settings.


To delete a message template, locate the message template and click DELETE TEMPLATE.
